Hi, I'm Jeroen and I'm fascinated by animism, a belief system that emphasizes the special relationship between humans and objects, where each object, living or non-living, is considered to have a spirit. This connection and conscious interaction with objects contrast sharply with today's throwaway culture, where products are often quickly replaced. Growing up in Ghana, I learned the value of caring for each other and utilizing local products and materials. While the world rapidly embraces design trends and mass production, I'm glad to see an increasing awareness of sustainability and appreciation for artisanal, local products that are unique in form, color, and material, and that last a lifetime. As a product and exhibition designer, this philosophy enables me to collaborate with end-users to create unique objects and spaces that are functional and tell a special story.
